Madaraka- Fady Day!

What a nice weekend.

Fady turned 31 and Kenya turned 50... well, kind of!

Saturday, June 1, was Madaraka Day. A day commemorating freedom and internal self rule for Kenya. And this year was 50 years since the "break" from the United Kingdom. That is definitely a milestone. Many people are calling it a 50th birthday of sorts for Kenya. But, I disagree. Only because that would suggest that the history and culture of its people is fairly young in comparison to other countries. And we all know that's not true. Especially since some of the earliest remains of the human species have been found in Kenya. Kenyanthropus platyops anyone?  I digress. And in lieu of a history lesson, I move on to FadyRostompus.  :)

Fady Rostom, my favorite Egyptian Kenyan also celebrated 31 years of internal self rule! And to mark the occasion Beryl and I threw a big 'ol bash. It was actually more of a small dinner party, but it was exciting nonetheless. With Tusker butt chicken, crushed potatoes and brocolli, Fady's favorite, we partied... all...night... long.. until 11pm... because that was his bedtime. He turned 31,  not 21.

It was fantastic. Take a look!
