I made it back to Nairobi... Safe and Sound!!! The trip went well. Hallelujah! :)

Tonja Khabir: Macon , Georgia; I am a 25 year old global citizen from Macon, Georgia. Over the last 5 years, I have studied, travelled, and worked abroad in countries including South Africa, Haiti, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. Such experiences have been phenomenal and life changing. But coming from a low income household in the U.S., accessing such opportunities is not an easy feat. In my experience, I have also noticed how rare it is to see other young African Americans and minorities sharing such experiences abroad. For that reason, I have decided to work to create these opportunities for young minorities in my hometown of Macon, Georgia. It is my goal to start a project that will encourage cultural understanding, global leadership, and allow youth to access the world beyond them. This blog is to track the progress of the organization's development along with the happenings of my everyday life here in Kenya. Thank you for your support.
